Autos: daytime running lights

Self-tutoring about autos: the tutor mentions an interesting fact about some drls (daytime running lights).

It seems that daytime running lights, on some models of Jeep Liberty, are actually accomplished through the high beams. One imagines the power is reduced for the drls application.

I read into this because I had to replace a bulb whose high-beam and daytime running light worked but its low-beam did not.
