Chemistry: sulfur or sulphur?
Self-tutoring about chemistry: the tutor mentions the name for element 16.
I recall hearing that “sulfur” was an Americanization of the correct name “sulphur” for element 16 on the Periodic Table of the Elements. However, as of 1990, “sulfur” is the correct name, according to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. As I understand, IUPAC is the authority on how to name things in chemistry.
So, “sulfur” it is:)
