Home computer use: how to open a pub file

Self-tutoring about file formats: the tutor mentions a way to open a pub file.

An email came in with an attachment of file type .pub. I’m not familiar with that extension; it turns out to be from Microsoft Publisher, which I’ve never used. I wondered how to open it.

Looking around, I realized that I couldn’t open the .pub file with what I had onboard; I had to use an app from elsewhere to convert it to a .docx file. I could add an extension to the browser or go to an online facility; I did the latter, at online-convert.com. I set up a free account and two minutes later I had the .docx version of the file.

Best of luck:)
