The plants were prime specimens, obviously well tended for best effect.  If you want to see what they look like, see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gardeningknowhow.com\/ornamental\/flowers\/chinese-lantern\/caring-for-chinese-lanterns.htm\">gardeningknowhow.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Gardeningknowhow.com points out that Chinese lantern is of the nightshade family, along with tomatoes and peppers. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Physalis_alkekengi\">Wikipedia<\/a> points out that it is native across southern Eurasia.
