The tutor shares another field find.<\/h1>\n

I love vacant lots, since they usually host wild plants. One I check weekday mornings, walking back from dropping off the car, has provided a few finds, including today’s: northern geranium.<\/p>\n

The plant is about 40cm tall, with a large pink flower, maybe 5cm across. There are five petals, and they fit together along the outer edge, giving a smooth pentagon shape. There is no flower like it I’ve seen.<\/p>\n

The leaves I didn’t notice much, except that they are divided into long, thin lobes.<\/p>\n

According to the guide, northern geranium doesn’t live here, but further north. Even so, the specimen I observed sure resembles it.<\/p>\n

I’ll be paying this situation further attention in case I’m wrong. With wild flowers, the time they are available for observation can be very limited.<\/p>\n
