However, a graph can cross a horizontal asymptote.  Consider, for example, the graph below:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/..\/images\/asymptote_graph_nov4_2016.png\" style=\"display:block;margin:auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since the degree of the numerator is less than that of the denominator, the graph has a horizontal asymptote along y=0 (aka, the x axis). However, at x=1.5, the numerator itself is equal to zero, meaning the graph crosses the x axis at (1.5,0).
