The tutor shares one of his latest interests.<\/h1>\n<p>I&#8217;ve become very fond of dried fruits &#8211; among them, dates. My wife brought home a 2-pound carton of them a few days back; less than half remain. I&#8217;m quite sure I&#8217;m the only one who eats them.<\/p>\n<p>According to the carton, dates are 70% sugar. Amazingly, the plain bar of milk chocolate whose label I examined is only 57% sugar.<\/p>\n<p>The dates, however, contain about three times the fibre of the chocolate (7.5% vs 2.4%). Moreover, the dates&#8217; ratio of insoluble fibre to soluble is about 5:1.
