\nBack in my post from April 26, 2016<\/a>, I finally notice a white-crowned sparrow.<\/p>\n \nRecently I’ve been alerted to a certain bird call. Doubtless I’ve heard it for years, but suddenly, it’s become impossible to ignore. For weeks I’ve been wondering what bird makes it.\n<\/p>\n \nWhen I hear the call typically, I can sense a direction, but it’s from a stand of trees. Pinpointing the bird making it is never possible. I don’t hear the call many times per hour, but perhaps a few times each day. Furthermore, I hear it around town.\n<\/p>\n \nYesterday morning, I heard the call, but the scenario was different: there was only one high tree nearby. On one of the topmost branches perched the caller. As I looked at the bird, it continued to utter the call.
