Not every song was different, but &#8220;rock and roll&#8221; was largely upstaged by a new style of music, which came to be called &#8220;new wave.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWhat was new wave? It may have started, mainstream, with &#8220;Video Killed the Radio Star&#8221; by the Buggles.
