The tutor comments on the common use of transition as a verb.<\/h2>\n<p>\nI just checked two dictionaries: neither lists <em>transition<\/em> as a verb. Yet, since the late 90s, I&#8217;ve heard sentences like &#8220;I found it challenging to transition from Schedule A to Schedule B.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSpoken language evolves more quickly than academic. <em>Transition<\/em> has become accepted as a verb in everyday speech, but I wouldn&#8217;t use it that way in a paper.<\/p>\n<p>Source:<\/p>\n<p>Barber, Katherine et al. <em>Oxford Canadian Dictionary of Current English<\/em>.
