\nI can’t recall seeing a cardinal in Nova Scotia. I have seen one, outside Detroit in 1984 on a summer vacation. It was perched on a clothesline in a backyard; the old man on a lawn chair there waved at us in our car as we slowly drove by. He could tell we weren’t local. I still recall his friendly smile, and that cardinal near him.<\/p>\n
\nI wondered if I’d ever see another cardinal, but haven’t. Interestingly, they live in Nova Scotia now – year-round, moreover – having expanded from the Niagara region in Ontario.<\/p>\n
