Lots of people I know aren’t fans of the US president right now. He doesn’t seem much of a politician. Less politically, there are a few statistics I’ve been thinking about.<\/p>\n
Under Trump, both corporate profits and the federal debt are up — the former, by 6.9%, while the latter, by 16.7%. My reading suggests the US has run a deficit every year of the Trump presidency. Interestingly, tax cuts were enacted in December, 2017.<\/p>\n
Enacting tax cuts while the government runs a deficit sounds ill-advised, especially when the corporations seem to be doing well. One wonders if there is a larger idea presenting itself.<\/p>\n
