I decided we&#8217;d play 3-way rugby.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe ball was a Nerf football; the goal, a large planting pot placed on the grass. We took turns at starting with the ball; that person began in a &#8220;safe zone&#8221; about 25 feet from the &#8220;goal.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>The possessor tried to score, while the other two defended. My older son, Paul, wasn&#8217;t allowed to grapple when he was defending; he&#8217;s just too strong from wrestling and strength training. However, he could when he had the ball. My younger son, James, and I as well, could grapple anytime. Any method of prevention from judo, wrestling, or rugby was allowed.<\/p>\n<p>\nAt one point, when Paul had the ball, he used that opportunity to do a perfect judo throw on me: suddenly I could see my feet pointing to the sky. James, a parkourist, managed a few goals by his clever maneuvers. I got the least goals.<\/p>\n<p>We played around 35 minutes then did a 10-minute cool-down with some parkour. The weather was perfect.
