Note that in this case, <em>green<\/em> frog means a species of frog, not a description, although they are often green.<\/p>\n<p>The green frog has a life cycle I&#8217;m a bit surprised to learn. Its tadpoles don&#8217;t become frogs until the following year; they spend their first winter still tadpoles. Therefore, they are only found in wetlands that don&#8217;t dry up: deep swamps or ponds, or else lakes or along rivers. Perhaps most surprisingly, I&#8217;ve read they carry on hibernation beneath the surface of the water as well. <\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the green frog utters single calls that are tenor or bass.
