\nI recall, back in grade 5, at Halloween, noticing a new chocolate bar: Choco Loto. I never had one, as far as I remember: I stuck to chocolate bars I already knew I liked. Yet, Choco Loto was prevalent then.<\/p>\n
I always wondered what the name “Choco Loto” meant. I recall the slogan “You just can’t lose,” but never realized what that meant. Now I know that some bars contained vouchers for money back, a t-shirt, etc. I’m not sure how that all worked, but one example is, apparently, that the wrapper of a Choco Loto bar could contain a 25 cent voucher. The bar itself only cost 30 cents, so, winning that voucher, you just had to pitch in a nickel to get another Choco Loto bar.\n<\/p>\n
I never had any inclination to try Choco Loto, and might not remember them at all, except that Judy<\/a> seemed to really like them. Starting from Halloween, grade 5, she often had them: I would see their empty wrappers on her desk, or else see them as she organized her stuff in the morning. I think she liked them more than anyone I knew of. Ironically, I never asked her what was so good about them.<\/p>\n Choco Loto, as I recall, wasn’t around too long; I can’t remember seeing any past around grade 7.
