Insulin facilitates fat gain, which I don&#8217;t want.<\/p>\n<p>\nIn the morning, having not eaten since the previous evening, my body is in a nice state of gluconeogenesis or ketosis. I want that trend to continue, because it will burn fat. On the other hand, having a couple of slices of toast will introduce carbohydrates to my system. The carbs quickly digest to sugar, which triggers insulin release as it enters the bloodstream. The insulin will cause the sugar to be removed from the blood to be stored as fat, which doesn&#8217;t align with my objective.<\/p>\n<p>\nAs a result of said reflection, I ask myself each day &#8211; when will I eat? Before noon? After? Perhaps not until supper?<\/p>\n<p>I want to point out that I don&#8217;t have an eating disorder or anything dramatic like that. My BMI is about 24.8 &#8211; just below &#8220;overweight.&#8221; Moreover, there is constant upward pressure on it; I can only keep it down by rigorous exercise, dieting, or a combination of both.<\/p>\n<p>For now, I&#8217;ve stopped habitual eating; I only eat when I&#8217;m hungry enough that it&#8217;s distracting. I&#8217;ve found that not eating breakfast until well into the day is a way to keep new pounds off.
