The tutor mentions <em>anachronism.<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\nAn <em>anachronism<\/em> is something (or someone) that&#8217;s in the wrong time period. If you have a movie set in 2004, but Jimmy Carter (in the movie) is President, that&#8217;s an anachronism: Carter was President in 1976, whereas George W. Bush was President in 2004.<\/p>\n<p>\nHowever, anachronism can be more subtle than the situation above. Sometimes, the definition of a term changes, but not everyone changes to the new definition. At some point, most people use the new definition, yet some people still use the old. Technology can witness the same situation.<\/p>\n<p>\nIf you go over to your new friend&#8217;s house, and their computer runs Windows XP, you could say that&#8217;s anachronism.
