\nI live about 1km from a grocery store where I do about half my shopping. If I’m only going there, I always walk – it’s one way I keep the fat off.<\/p>\n
I generally get paper bags. Sometimes, on the way home, I need to rest my arms and re-position the bags. If there are deals, I sometimes buy a lot to carry home (we’re a family of four).<\/p>\n
\nToday I bought two gallons of milk and some other items. It was raining, so the cashier decided I’d be best off with plastic bags. I took her advice.<\/p>\n
I was impressed with how strong the plastic bags are: each supported a gallon of milk the entire walk, held only at the handles (I didn’t have to support them from underneath).<\/p>\n
Yet, many years ago, a plastic bag from another place did fail on me, and the jug of milk fell – and broke(!)
