The tutor mentions the Google Search Bar for sin.<\/h2>\n<p>\nMost people familiar with sin probably expect the result 0.5 for sin30&deg;. Tonight, in the Google Search Bar on Firebox, I keyed in sin30 and got -0.988. Why?<\/p>\n<p>\nThe search bar is thinking 30 rads, not 30 degrees. Although they are learned after degrees, rads are the &#8220;natural&#8221; way angles are measured, and many calculating devices default to rads.<\/p>\n<p>\nApparently, you can explain you mean 30 degrees by keying 30deg.
