I&#8217;ve used Ubuntu for years.<\/p>\n<p>\nThis computer is too old to use current Windows, but will still run Ubuntu. However, some features of the Gnome desktop didn&#8217;t work &#8211; for instance, Screen Lock. Yet, Screen Lock is important.<\/p>\n<p>I researched the problem and other people agreed it does exist, but some suggestions of how to fix it were complicated. I decided maybe changing the desktop environment would help: after more reading I changed to Cinnamon.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Cinnamon desktop has been a breath of fresh air. Screen Lock works with it, so that&#8217;s the problem solved.
