\nTo my knowledge, Ubuntu typically comes with Gnome as its desktop. I’ve used Ubuntu for years.<\/p>\n
\nThis computer is too old to use current Windows, but will still run Ubuntu. However, some features of the Gnome desktop didn’t work – for instance, Screen Lock. Yet, Screen Lock is important.<\/p>\n
I researched the problem and other people agreed it does exist, but some suggestions of how to fix it were complicated. I decided maybe changing the desktop environment would help: after more reading I changed to Cinnamon.<\/p>\n
\nThe Cinnamon desktop has been a breath of fresh air. Screen Lock works with it, so that’s the problem solved. Moreover, it’s just a very cool desktop environment.<\/p>\n
