You might say we got more than we bargained for.<\/p>\n<p>\nWe started in the purse\/handbag section, then moved to the shoes. The store was busy, and many shelves already had obvious vacancy. It was a great setting for an observer: lots of movement, yet not too crowded. Many of the shoppers were serious.<\/p>\n<p>\nI didn&#8217;t know my wife was on a mission until she started trying on running shoes. This store doesn&#8217;t have seats; you just try them on standing in the aisle.<\/p>\n<p>I was looking at various colourful shoes in the racks, none of which my wife tried. Next I overheard, seemingly from a couple of aisles away,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n&#8230;but do I really need high-healed rain boots?<br\/>\n<span style=\"font-style: normal\">&#8211;anonymous shopper<\/span>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nAs I say: these were serious shoppers.
