\nDecember 2022 we got a surprising amount of snow, with very cold temperatures, for here, as well. On Canada’s West Coast, we’re not meant to have typical Canadian winters of snow and cold. Rather, winters here are cloudy, rainy, and foggy, most of the time.<\/p>\n
\nSince our last snow, sometime before Christmas, we’ve had much rain: the snow is nearly gone. Daytime temps have been 6 to 9°C, more like you’d imagine here. December 31, yesterday afternoon, at 2:30pm, it being a bit sunny, I went outside to tend to the yard.<\/p>\n
\nThe temp might have been around 7°C, the wind calm. Yet, it seemed to get more pleasant as the afternoon progressed. I did some dead-heading, then some thinning of shrubs and general cleanup. About an hour in, I brought out some wine to savour the occasion of yard work on New Years Eve.<\/p>\n
\nThere are always things you didn’t think of that you notice when you’re doing yard work, but I ran out of daylight. I would have loved two more hours.<\/p>\n
