They&#8217;ve been domesticated for around 5000 years, and it&#8217;s estimated that anywhere from 0 to 4000 wild ones still exist. Interbreeding is known to happen between wild and tame ones, and domestic ones &#8211; including feral ones &#8211; may number over 100 million in Asia alone. Feral ones also live in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>\nWater buffalo can be 800-1200kg with shoulder height of 190cm and length of 2.8m.
