\nRecently I was dropping off a car to get its tires changed over to the summer ones. The car had been in a light fender bender, so one of its door handles is broken. It still works, but not by pulling the lever as you normally would. Rather, you have to reach inside and manipulate it to open it.<\/p>\n
\nI explained this at the desk, and offered to assist if they needed help. I was told they’d be fine.<\/p>\n
\nLater, I watched the mechanic park the car after he’d test driven it. He opened and closed the door without even looking at it, as if it worked normally.<\/p>\n
\nMy interpretation: That mechanic didn’t believe a door could be hard to open, so it wasn’t. Some people refer to that as the power of belief.<\/p>\n
