I forget the topic of the video I watched that time, but I realized the channel to be a valuable resource.<\/p>\n<p>\nToday, YouTube suggested the video <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Hjb3bx6vxnc\">The Future of Consumer SBCs: Has the Pi bubble burst?<\/a> by ExplainingComputers. I clicked it, and was drawn in. Besides much else covered therein, a particular point he makes is something I&#8217;ve noticed myself, but not everyone seems to mention: software bloat.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe host demonstrates, for instance, that a 2012 device that worked fine back then won&#8217;t necessarily be able to run the current version of a program that it used before. Or, if it can, it may do so noticeably slower. The reason he gives is that today&#8217;s version of the same program may likely need more resources than its original did.<\/p>\n<p>\nSince I use a given computer for many years (typically), I&#8217;ve noticed this trend &#8211; especially with web browsers and websites.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe host mentions much more in the video than just software bloat.<\/p>\nJack of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oracletutoring.ca\">Oracle Tutoring by Jack and Diane,<\/a> Campbell River, BC.\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Self-tutoring about computers today and to come: the tutor mentions a video and a YouTube channel.
