What about the gas cap?<\/p>\n<p>\nWe have an 07 vehicle that started to complain about the gas cap. I though it might just be loose, so tightened it. The car continued to complain. I researched the situation and, indeed, one might need to change the gas cap to pacify the car. Modern cars can tell if the gas cap isn&#8217;t sealing properly, and may complain about it in a few different ways. The message &#8220;gas cap&#8221; flashing on the odometer is one; the engine light turning on can be another.<\/p>\n<p>\nI guess one might end up having to change the gas cap around every 50,000 miles (80,000 km).
