\nPrestressed concrete, as I understand, is a block of concrete that contains steel reinforcement that’s been stretched. As a result, the concrete itself is experiencing an internal elastic force because the steel is trying to regain its original shape. In its construction project, the concrete block will be inserted so that said internal elastic force will counter natural stress the structure will experience due to load, etc. Therefore, the structure made from prestressed concrete blocks can have enhanced strength, potentially requiring less material overall.<\/p>\n
