They come, as I understand, from varied thrush.<\/p>\n<p>\nI&#8217;ve written numerous posts about varied thrush. They live here, in the Pacific Northwest, all year. However, I notice them in late winter and early spring out in the yard. Sometimes one will stand on a fence. Other times they hop around on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>\nVaried thrushes have an orange breast but also a v-shaped black collar which is emphasized on males.
