They can become quite large. Their leaves widen from the stem, reaching maximum width near the other end, then round off, perhaps to a point. Their flowers grow in upright, conical arrangements that taper toward the top. The horse chestnut flowers I&#8217;ve seen are white.<\/p>\n<p>\nI would have walked by a large horse chestnut tree last weekend without noticing, since it was among other tall trees in a fenced yard. Yet, the scent of its flowers caught my attention.
