\nIt’s been floating around for awhile now, the idea of Canada joining the EU. Yet, could it happen?<\/p>\n
\nFrom Canada’s perspective, here are two interesting stats: forty-four percent of Canadians think it’s a good idea, while forty-six percent would support it. So far as I’m aware, some governments win majorities with less support than that.<\/p>\n
\nWhether Canada would fit in amongst the EU seems beyond doubt, to my mind. We’re already bilingual and we seem to have a point of view in alignment with Europe’s, more or less.<\/p>\n
\nSome people point to the fact that we’re not part of Europe. Yet, if Greenland is, one might suspect Canada could be as well. It seems apparent Canada has long-standing historical ties to England as well as France.<\/p>\n
\nWho knows – perhaps this European question could be less casual than some might think.<\/p>\n
