Hopefully one can buy a replacement, but sometimes one might need to improvise one.<\/p>\n<p>\nI was asking about gasket material at a shop. They asked me if I wanted rubber, vinyl, or cork. Instantly intrigued, I asked to see the cork. They showed me the cork as well as the rubber and also fibre.<\/p>\n<p>\nI recall seeing an automotive gasket decades ago that looked like cork.
