Next, I consulted a handyperson’s manual about opening drains. Interestingly, it didn’t seem to mention using drain opener; instead, it suggested using a plunger or even an auger.<\/p>\n \nThinking about it, I decided to try a plunger. I’d know instantly if it worked, rather than waiting 15 minutes or so.
