\nI planted a mix of wildflowers in the garden back, as I recall, in late April. Few seemed to appear. However, some suddenly have, including black-eyed susans.<\/p>\n
\nWith their yellow petals, dark brown centers, and leaves that are stalked at the bottom but less so towards the top, their identification as black-eyed susans seems beyond question. I’d say the plant height, as of now, to be about knee level.<\/p>\n
\nI’ve heard of black-eyed susans from childhood, but these are the first I’ve recognized as such.<\/p>\n
\nI’m noticing other wildflowers in the garden, as well, which I hope to identify and mention in future posts.<\/p>\n
