\nI was intrigued to learn that Ethiopia’s population is possibly Africa’s second highest, after Nigeria. It seems rather difficult, however, to know Ethiopia’s population: for 2024, the CIA World Factbook seems to suggests around 118 million, while the World Bank, 132 million.<\/p>\n
\nMexico’s population for 2024, on the other hand, seems to be more certain, at around 131 million.<\/p>\n
\nIn a GDP comparison, Mexico’s seems much higher: around 2.9 trillion for Mexico (PPP), compared with around 381 billion for Ethiopia (PPP). Just for perspective, Canada’s GDP seems around 2.3 trillion (PPP), so less than Mexico’s by that measure.<\/p>\n
\nYet, Mexico’s GDP growth rate seems around 1.5 percent, compared with Ethiopia’s 7.3 percent. Moreover, Mexico’s suggested debt-to-gdp ratio seems around 45 percent, compared with Ethiopia’s suggested 31 percent. For perspective, Canada’s GDP growth rate seems 1.5 percent, while its debt-to-gdp seems around 61 percent.<\/p>\n
\nThe life expectancy in Mexico seems around 75 years; in Ethiopia, 68 years. Literacy rate in Mexico seems around 95 percent, while in Ethiopia, around 48 percent.<\/p>\n
