\nThe following is according to my understanding.<\/p>\n
\nOne would probably like to imagine that Canada’s last federal election, April 28, 2025, is over. Yet, perhaps it’s not, for a reason that might be even more surprising: it seems there’s a known ballot that might have changed the result in one riding, that has nonetheless gone uncounted(?)<\/p>\n
I’ve already mentioned that this is according to my understanding. Hang onto your hats, because this situation is perhaps very hard to understand, or else believe, or even both.<\/p>\n
\nIt seems that, in the riding of Terrebonne, Quebec, the Liberal candidate beat the Bloc Quebecois candidate by one vote – supposedly. However, a mail-in voter from that riding had her ballot returned to her; the reason, it seems, was an error, by Elections Canada, regarding the address on the pre-printed envelope. Her vote was for the Bloc Quebecois candidate, so would have tied the result in the riding.<\/p>\n
\nApparently, it’s suspected other potential mail-in ballots may have been similarly affected, with perhaps sixteen not having been received within due time.<\/p>\n
\nIt will be interesting to see what the court decides…<\/p>\n
