\nThe following is by my understanding.<\/p>\n
\nBur oak doesn’t live in BC naturally, but like lots of imported trees, seems to survive here quite well. I believe I saw a bur oak in Kamloops last week.<\/p>\n
\nThe leaves were oak-shaped, and rounded, meaning from the white oak group. (Red oaks have pointed leaves.) Notable about this oak was its acorns, which seemed to have a kind of woody frill around the cup. I hadn’t seen such before.<\/p>\n
\nFrom there, I noticed that each of its leaves had a deep indent on either side at about half length, reaching nearly to the center rib. The rest of the indents were much shallower.<\/p>\n
\nIt’s always interesting to find an oak tree in BC:)\n<\/p>\n
