The tutor mentions an example.<\/h2>\n<p>\nThe following is by my understanding.<\/p>\n<p>\nBack in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oracletutoring.ca\/blog\/math-factoring-common-factor\/\">my post from May 21, 2013<\/a> I show some ideas about common factoring. Today, I will show an example with a decimal.<\/p>\n<p>\nExample: factor 0.2x^3 &#8211; 3x^2 + x<\/p>\n<p>\nSolution:<\/p>\n<p>\n0.2 will go into all integers, since 5*0.2=1. Therefore, one can take it out front as a common factor, along with x:<\/p>\n<p>\n0.2x(x^2 &#8211; 15x + 5)<\/p>\n<p>\nNote that 0.2*-15=-3.<\/p>\n<p>\nSource:<\/p>\n<p>Travers,K.J., Dalton,L.C., Brunner,V.F., Taylor,A.R.
