Chemistry: SATP vs STP
The tutor comments on the difference between SATP and STP.
STP: Standard Temperature, Pressure: 273.15K (0°C), 101.3kPA.
SATP: Standard Ambient Temperature, Pressure: 298.15K (25°C), 101.3kPA.
Back in the early 90s, one of my professors predicted the adoption of SATP: “Most people don’t conduct experiments at 0°C.” He pointed out that 22.4L/mol at STP means 24.5L/mol at 25°C, 101.3kPA: the conditions now referred to as SATP.
