What do warp, weft and woof mean?
Tutoring English, new vocabulary is always interesting – especially unfamiliar short words. The tutor fields the question, “What are warp, weft, and woof?”
Weaving fabric, there is fundamentally a grid that consists of lengthwise threads and cross threads. The lengthwise threads constitute, together, the warp of a fabric; the weft comprises the cross threads.
Note:
Weft can also be called woof or fill.
