Self-tutoring about display communication: the tutor continues about images vs text.

I begin in yesterday’s post comparing text with pictures: if a picture is worth a thousand words, why is literacy important?

Consider the word “harvest.” Writing it is instant, but drawing it would take much more time and space. Text possesses economy over images. Moreover, text is unified: If a thousand people were asked to draw “harvest”, they would likely each produce an image different from the others. Perhaps, therefore, a word is worth a thousand pictures.
