Politics: US deficits
Self-tutoring about politics: the tutor discusses the US deficits and Trump.
I don’t listen to or read the news much, although a couple of apps send me headlines on my phone. Of course, the US political campaign has already begun.
Topics I rarely hear of are the US deficit and debt, both of which seem to have increased since 2016.
Believe it or not, Trump suggested in 2016 that he could clear the US debt in 8 years. Assuming he’s re-elected, he’ll need to get busy: since 2016, the US debt has grown from $19T to over $23T. The deficit for 2019, depending on the source, ran around $980B.
