Web design: the hr element, part0

Self-tutoring about web design: the tutor is nostalgic about some elements.

The marquee and blink elements became deprecated before I realized they existed. Although they are written about today (by some sources) as though they never should’ve existed, I think they had their place.

Recently I read a recommendation to stop using the hr element. (Same source also discourages using the br tag, although Mozilla says it has its place: see my post here.) I haven’t used hr in recent memory, but when I started experimenting with html around 20 years ago, I thought the hr tag was cool.

Mozilla (see here) affirms that the hr element still has its place, which is reassuring. Enough things have gone extinct in my lifetime.
