Text editors: why so many prefer not to use Notepad
Self-tutoring about text editors: the tutor mentions why Notepad isn’t always preferred.
Notepad, of course, comes onboard with Windows. It’s a great text editor, and I’ve written many programs on it, even recently.
The first big draw of Notepad++ or VS-Code is the multi-tab feature, similar to an internet browser, so you can have numerous files open and simply click between one another.
There are many other features both share, including even running programs, as I understand it. I’ve never used that.
One feature both Notepad++ and VS-Code have is that when you click on an opening parenthesis, it will shade the corresponding closing one.
