Curiosities: the house that’s for sale again

Self-tutoring about things one notices: the tutor mentions one.

I walk to and from work. Going there I take one route, but coming back, another. It’s about 20 minutes.

There is a house I pass that was for sale, then had a “Sold” sticker across the “For Sale” sign, but now has the “For Sale” sign once again without the “Sold” sticker across it. They never even took the signpost down; I think they just changed out the plastic sign hanging from it.

God knows why this happened. Perhaps the purchaser found another house they like even better, got transferred to a new job, etc. Nowadays, life’s pace is so fast, things like that can happen.

I recall talking to a realtor who said he sometimes sold the same house twice within a short time due to a couple buying the house, then splitting up because of arguments they got into about how to renovate. That can be a big problem in a marriage.

Apparently, changes might be best adopted gradually, to keep them from causing an avalanche.
