Lifestyle: Port Moody
Self-tutoring about places to visit around BC: the tutor mentions Port Moody.
I watched a martial arts tournament in Port Moody over the weekend. Before that, I don’t believe I’d been to Port Moody. However, I would be happy to return.
As someone who lives in BC, but not in the Lower Mainland, I hear about places that are next to, part of, or associated with Greater Vancouver all the time. Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Kells, Port Moody, Richmond, and New Westminster are all examples. To someone who doesn’t live in the Lower Mainland, those names, along with still more, might gel into a concept called Metro Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, or just Vancouver. Yet, said person will still understand that each name designates its own place.
To me, Port Moody is easy-going and appealing. There are luxury imports driving around, of course, but not every vehicle is. People seem to be going their way, at their own pace, enjoying life. There was Friday afternoon traffic, but even that felt benign.
We stopped in at a great Asian food market and bought some produce. The vibe was relaxed and fun and carried over into dinner. With the solstice just a day earlier, it was still light as we started back for the hotel.
I’d love to visit Port Moody again:)
