In simple terms, gross fixed capital formation (gfcf) is the amount invested in an economy. It might be given as an absolute number or as a percent of gdp. For instance, in 2023, gfcf in the US was around 21 percent of gdp. As a percent of gdp, Canada’s, in 2024, was also about 21 percent.
