Recycling: ABC Recycling

Self-tutoring about recycling metal: the tutor mentions ABC Recycling.

The following is according to my understanding.

ABC Recycling has been on my radar for some time, because they take scrap metal. Therefore, when one has an old range, or barbeque, for instance, it’s probably good to know about ABC Recycling.

The other day I had an old barbeque whose interior was rusted out; I had to replace it. (I mention about dismantling it in my post from May 5, 2026.) So, what does one do with the old one? I decided to try dropping it off at ABC Recycling.

I managed to dismantle it, then load the parts into the vehicle. Next, I headed to Campbellton, turned right onto Highway 19, then crossed over the bridge. I drove past the car dealerships. I continued along the road as it bent left. I drove past the old mill site, then the lookout. Maybe another kilometre or two after that, I saw the turnoff, to the right, onto Barge Terminal Road, which leads to ABC Recycling.

Exiting the highway onto Barge Terminal Road, I drove slowly along until turning left onto Terminal Place. In particular, 4318 Terminal Place is the address of ABC Recycling.

Being a noob, I didn’t know how to proceed. It turns out that one waits their turn, then drives onto the scale, which has the office at left. If necessary, the person in the office will give instructions. Then, being given the go-ahead, one drives into the yard and drops off the metal. Afterwards, one drives out the same way they drove in, stops at the office to complete the transaction, and leaves.

I generally like industrial places: they tend to have lots of room and lots of capacity. So it is with ABC Recycling.

I could have unloaded all the metal parts myself, but the machine operator saw I could use help, so he jumped down and helped me unload.

In my case, I would have received two dollars for the scrap metal (the old barbeque) I dropped off. I told them to give it to charity; I think they said they would donate it to the Hospital Foundation.

So, if one has a lot of metal to get rid of, ABC Recycling might be a place to try. Having gone there, my guess is it’s only about seven minutes from Campbellton.
