Holidays: Christmas cards
Self-tutoring about Christmas traditions: the tutor mentions one he still honours.
This is a busy time of year. One extra thing to do herein is write Christmas cards, which I have done for over twenty years.
I have come to realize that writing Christmas cards might be as much for the writer as for the reader, as it gives one time to reflect on what was mentioned last time, and therefore how things have changed since. History is important to people: whether they write Christmas cards or not, they think and act in a context that more includes the past than the future.
One or two cards inevitably involve reaching out to people who are closer to the recipient than I am, to verify the address. Even that is part of the tradition, refreshing connections with people on the list.
On this foggy December morning, I am grateful to be writing Christmas cards.
Holiday greetings:)
