Politics: ballots: overvote and undervote
Self-tutoring about election terms: the tutor mentions overvote and undervote.
My understanding is as follows: overvote and undervote are two types of spoiled ballots. The overvote is spoiled because someone chose more candidates for the same position than they’re allowed. The simple example of this is that they marked two candidates for a single position.
An undervote is spoiled because no candidate is clearly marked. There might be a dimple in the box beside one of the candidates, but no decisive indication of the voter’s choice.
