Health: Vitamin D from the sun

Self-tutoring about health: the tutor mentions sun exposure for the purpose of receiving vitamin D.

I’ve heard that being outside, in the sun, causes the body to manufacture vitamin D. Supposedly it’s not necessary to get a lot of sun to make a difference.

I’ve heard from a few sources that vitamin D deficiency can make COVID much more dangerous. Therefore, when the sun comes out, I try to spend some time in it, for a run or just standing in it with a coffee. Today offered such an opportunity.
